FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Clayton Opera House Volunteer Refresh- Orientation and Training
Clayton – The Clayton Opera House would like to welcome back all past, current and future volunteers. We will be hosting volunteer orientation and training for the 2026 season on Wednesday December 3 at 10 am.
Anyone interested in signing up to act as ushers, help with backstage work, lend a hand with artist hospitality, assist with mailings, or to be an Opera House greeter are invited to attend.
Volunteer Ushers assist patrons and house staff during evening and matinee performances. No previous experience is necessary, but friendliness and willingness to help people are key attributes. Ushers are usually needed for a minimum of four hours, and call time is 60 minutes prior to curtain. They are invited to take a seat and watch the performance, but assist with tasks prior to the performance, during intermission and following the performance. High school students who may need to fulfill required volunteer hours for school are welcome.
The orientation and training meeting will take place in the theater located on the main floor of the Clayton Opera House located at 403 Riverside Drive in Clayton. Experience is not necessary. The Opera House will hold this training in preparation for the 2026 season. Additional training will be held in May and June 2026. Attendance at one of the orientation and training sessions is required for all current and future volunteers. If you would like to be a member of the crew of more than 70 volunteers who play a vital role in the Opera House’s operations, please come join us!
