The TIPAF Arts in Education Committee is yet one more way that the Clayton Opera House reaches out to our extended community by providing quality arts programming for North Country students in grades K - 12. These performances are live on the Opera House stage and free to participating schools, thanks to continued support from our Board of Directors, grants, personal and business sponsors, and the NNY Community Foundation. For the 2025-2026 school year, we reserved the following special performances:
*Leland Faulkner’s World of Wonder: In one of our most exciting programs to date, just under 500 students experienced the wonder of shadow puppetry, illusion and world cultures on October 16, 2025. Every student left with a smile.
*The Westerlies: On March 2, 2026, we will host The Westerlies, an award-winning brass quartet for grades 7 -12. These students will experience jazz, new classical and some Appalachian folk with a group committed to music education and community engagement, having performed masterclasses throughout the US!
*Theatreworks USA Click, Clack, Moo: On May 8, 2026, students in grades K – 3 will be treated to a hilarious musical in which Farmer Brown declares his farm tech-free after the cows use a computer to demand blankets. A strike by the cows and chickens ensues. Students will laugh their way through a lesson in negotiation and compromise. We will also be giving each participating classroom a free copy of this Caldecott Honor Book!!
Thank you to the Enchanted Edible Forest at Cross Island Farms, Jade Stone Engineering & Community Bank N.A. for sponsoring 2026 Arts in Education performances.
If you are interested in sponsoring one of these performances, either as an individual or a business, please reach out to Shauna or Julie at [email protected] or [email protected].
