Clayton Community Band Concert

The Clayton Community Band closes their 2012 season with a special holiday concert. Get your tickets now and join in the fun in celebrating the holiday season with the Opera House’s resident ensemble.

Under the direction of Gloria Hvizdos Musser, holiday music for the enjoyment of audience members of all ages will be featured. The program will include: Leroy Anderson’s familiar ‘Sleigh Ride’ and his ‘Christmas Festival;’ Rick Badour singing the well-loved ‘White Christmas’ accompanied by the Band; music from the popular holiday movie Polar Express; ‘We Need A Little Christmas’ from the Broadway show Mame; ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year;’ and an exciting Latin-style piece titled ‘We Wish You A Mambo Christmas.’

Additional selections will include two medleys of well-known winter and Christmas tunes – ‘Winter Holiday’ (containing ‘Let It Snow!,' ‘Winter Wonderland’ and ‘Frosty The Snowman’) and ‘The Bells of Christmas’ (comprised of ‘Ding Dong! Merrily On High!,’ ‘Carol of the Bells,’ ‘Silver Bells,' ‘I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day’ and a very lively Latin arrangement of ‘Jingle Bells’); a lovely piece which pairs ‘First Noel’ and Pachelbel’s well-known ‘Canon;’ ‘Silent Night;’ and a stirring version of ‘O Come, Emmanuel.’

Celebrating the heartfelt joys and spirit of this special season, the audience and the Band will join hearts, voices and instruments together for the final number - the ‘Christmas Sing-A-Long.'
